    Christian Zacharias is een wereldberoemde Duitse pianist en dirigent, geboren in India in 1950. Met een carrière die al sinds de jaren '70 bloeit, heeft hij zich een naam gemaakt als een van de meest opvallende kunstenaars van zijn generatie. Zacharias staat bekend om zijn diepgaande muzikale inzicht, zijn poëtische instinct en zijn briljante communicatievaardigheden. Zijn integriteit en individuele stijl maken hem tot een geliefde figuur op de internationale podiums.

    Zacharias heeft talloze prijzen gewonnen en heeft een omvangrijke discografie opgebouwd. Hij heeft samengewerkt met verschillende orkesten, waaronder als artistiek directeur en ere-dirigent. Zijn repertoire is breed en omvat een verscheidenheid aan klassieke werken. Naast zijn muzikale talenten is Zacharias ook een gevierd denker, schrijver en presentator, wat zijn unieke en charismatische aanwezigheid op het podium verder versterkt. Zacharias is officier in de Orde van Kunst en Letteren en was artistiek directeur van het Lausanne Kamerorkest (OCL) van 2000 tot 2013.
