Dit album, 'Wigmore Hall Live - John Blow: Venus & Adonis', is een prachtige opname van het gelijknamige werk van de Engelse componist John Blow. Het album werd opgenomen op 3 mei 2010 in de Wigmore Hall in Londen en uitgebracht op 31 januari 2011 onder het label Wigmore Hall Live.
Het werk 'Venus en Adonis' is een opera in drie akten, gebaseerd op het mythologische verhaal van Venus en Adonis. De opera wordt uitgevoerd door het ensemble Theatre of the Ayre, onder leiding van Elizabeth Kenny, met Sophie Daneman als Venus en Roderick Williams als Adonis.
Het album bevat 25 nummers, waaronder de overture, ariën en koormuziek, evenals instrumentale stukken zoals de 'Ground in G minor' voor viool en continuo en de 'Chaconne'.
