    "Pavarotti Sings Verdi" is een prachtige verzameling van 55 nummers, waarop de legendarische tenor Luciano Pavarotti de mooiste aria's en scènes uit elf operas van Giuseppe Verdi brengt. Dit 3-cd-set is een rijke selectie van alle Verdi-werken die Pavarotti voor Decca heeft opgenomen, waaronder opera's als "Otello", "Macbeth", "Il Trovatore" en "La Traviata", evenals het Requiem en het zelden uitgevoerde "Inno delle nazioni".

    Pavarotti was een groot bewonderaar van Verdi en heeft in veel van zijn operarollen uitgeblonken, zowel op het podium als in de opnamestudio. Deze verzameling is een getuigenis van zijn meesterschap en zijn diepe verbinding met het werk van Verdi.     Giuseppe Verdi, geboren op 10 oktober 1813 in Le Roncole, is een van de meest invloedrijke en geliefde operacomponisten uit de 19e eeuw.
