Riz Ortolani, geboren als Riziero Ortolani op 25 maart 1926 in Pesaro, Italië, was een meesterlijke componist, dirigent en arrangeur, vooral bekend om zijn indrukwekkende filmmuziek. Met een carrière die meer dan vijftig jaar overspande, creëerde hij meer dan 200 film- en televisiesoundtracks, waardoor hij een onuitwisbaar stempel drukte op de wereld van de muziek. Zijn werken, zoals "I giorno dell'ira" uit 1967 en "Holiday On Skis" uit 1968, zijn nog steeds geliefd bij fans van over de hele wereld. Ortolani's muziek is een perfecte mix van emotie en meeslepende melodieën, die de kracht van zijn artistieke visie laten zien.
