Franz Krommer, geboren als František Vincenc Kramář, was een Tsjechisch componist en violist die een prominente rol speelde in de klassieke muziekwereld van de late 18e en vroege 19e eeuw. Geboren in 1759 in Kamenice, maakte Krommer carrière in Wenen, waar hij een van de meest populaire componisten was, naast gerenommeerde tijdgenoten zoals Beethoven. Krommer was een veelzijdig muzikant die niet alleen componeerde, maar ook als violist, organist, dirigent en kamer musicus voor de Habsburgse keizers werkte.
