Bernard Herrmann, geboren als Max Herman, was een van de meest invloedrijke en veelzijdige filmcomponisten van de twintigste eeuw. Geboren in New York in 1911, staat hij bekend om zijn iconische filmmuziek, met name voor de meesterwerken van Alfred Hitchcock zoals "Psycho" en "Vertigo".
