Georg Philipp Telemann brengt met zijn album 'Ino & Late Works' een ware muzikale schat aan het licht. Deze monografie, uitgevoerd door de Akademie für Alte Musik Berlin en de sopraan Christina Landshamer, bestaat uit Telemanns cantate 'Ino' en instrumentale werken die in dezelfde periode zijn gecomponeerd. Ondanks het gebruik van slechts één zanger, is 'Ino' een hoogst dramatisch uitgevoerd werk, dat het verhaal vertelt van een wanhopige vrouw die probeert te redden.
Het album, dat op 8 maart 2024 is uitgebracht onder het label Pentatone, duurt 1 uur en 11 minuten en bevat een breed scala aan muzikale stijlen. Van de 'Overture in D Major' tot de 'Divertimento in E-Flat Major' en de 'Sinfonia melodica in C Major', elk stuk is een meesterwerk op zich. Met zijn unieke combinatie van barokke en vroeg-klassieke invloeden, toont Telemann zijn vaardigheid en imaginaire kracht als componist.
Christina Landshamer en de Akademie für Alte Musik Berlin brengen deze werken met grote passie en precisie tot leven, waardoor het album een must is voor iedereen die van klassieke muziek houdt.
