Michael Hersch is een Amerikaanse componist en pianist wiens muziek bekend staat om zijn onvervalste briljantie en emotionele diepgang. Geboren in Washington D.C. in 1971, begon Hersch op jonge leeftijd te componeren en won al op 25-jarige leeftijd de eerste prijs in de American Composers Orchestra's Underwood New Music Readings.
