"Around the Curve of the World" van Francis Grier is een indrukwekkend choraalwerk dat in 2014 werd uitgebracht door SOMM Recordings. Dit album, met een speelduur van ongeveer 1 uur en 10 minuten, bestaat uit 13 nummers die een diepgaande en reflecterende reis door de geschiedenis en de natuur van Nieuw-Zeeland bieden.
Grier, een talentvolle componist, heeft met dit werk een cantate geschreven ter ere van het 150-jarig jubileum van Christchurch en Canterbury in Nieuw-Zeeland. De nummers zijn een mix van canticles, psalmen en narratieve stukken, uitgevoerd door een koraalensemble en soloisten. De teksten zijn een mix van biblische verhalen en persoonlijke verhalen van de emigranten John en Charlotte Godley.
