Ainadamar, een opera in drie beelden van de Argentijnse componist Osvaldo Golijov, is een adembenemend mooie en unieke fusie van barok en post-minimalisme, met hints van de componist zijn Joodse en Latijns-Amerikaanse erfgoed. Het libretto, geschreven door de Amerikaanse toneelschrijver David Henry Hwang en vertaald door Golijov zelf, vertelt het verhaal van de Spaanse dichter Federico García Lorca en de vrijheidsstrijdster Mariana Pineda.
Deze opname, uitgebracht in 2006 op het label Deutsche Grammophon, bevat 20 nummers en duurt 58 minuten. De muziek is een meeslepende reis door de emoties en thema's van het verhaal, met een combinatie van sensuele en dreigende momenten. De componist zelf geeft een introductie tot de opera en biedt een luistergids met muzikale voorbeelden, waardoor de luisteraar een dieper inzicht krijgt in de creatie en betekenis van het werk.
