Gecomponeerd door de Italiaans-Amerikaanse componist Gian Carlo Menotti, biedt deze opera een diepgaande kijk op het leven en de kunst van Goya, met een rijke mix van drama en muziek. Het album, uitgebracht in 2006 door het label Nuova Era, bestaat uit drie acten en duurt ruim anderhalf uur.
