Over Frederic Lamond

Frederic Lamond (1868-1948) was een beroemde Schotse pianist en componist, wiens carrière hem over de hele wereld bracht. Geboren in Glasgow, begon Lamond al op jonge leeftijd met optreden en studeerde bij legendarische figuren zoals Hans von Bülow en Franz Liszt, wiens laatste leerlingen hij een van was. Lamond verwierf een internationale reputatie als een uitstekende concertpianist, met name als interpreter van het Duitse repertoire. Hij bracht een groot deel van zijn leven door in Duitsland, maar vluchtte voor de nazi's en keerde terug naar Groot-Brittannië. Zijn virtuositeit en diepgaande interpretaties van klassieke werken maakten hem tot een geliefde figuur in de wereld van de klassieke muziek.
