Over Carl Czerny

Carl Czerny, geboren in Wenen in 1791, was een invloedrijke figuur in de wereld van de klassieke muziek. Als componist, pianist en pianopedagoog van Tsjechische afkomst, spande zijn muziek zich uit over de late Klassieke en vroege Romantische perioden. Czerny is vooral bekend om zijn pedagogische werken voor de piano, die nog steeds wereldwijd gebruikt worden in pianoles. Zijn enorme oeuvre omvat meer dan duizend werken, en hij was een van de meest bekende leerlingen van Ludwig van Beethoven. Later werd Czerny zelf een belangrijke leermeester van Franz Liszt, waardoor zijn invloed op de pianotechniek en -pedagogie onmiskenbaar is. Czerny's bijdragen hebben hem een vaste plaats gegeven in de geschiedenis van de klassieke muziek.
