Carl Orff's meesterwerk 'Carmina Burana' is een scenic cantate die in 1935 en 1936 werd gecomponeerd, gebaseerd op 24 middeleeuwse gedichten uit de collectie met dezelfde naam. Deze cantate is opgebouwd uit drie hoofddelen, elk met meerdere bewegingen die thema's als lente, liefde, fortuin en drinken in de herberg verkennen.
Onder leiding van de getalenteerde dirigent Ilya Stupel brengt het Arthur Rubinstein Philharmonic Orchestra deze tijdloze compositie tot leven, samen met de Artur Rubinstein Philharmonic Chorus. Het resultaat is een adembenemende opname die de luisteraar meeneemt op een reis door de middeleeuwse wereld, met alle emoties en passies die daarbij horen.
De tracklist omvat bekende nummers als 'O Fortuna', 'Veris leta facies' en 'In taberna quando sumus', allemaal gezongen in het Latijn en Duits. De opname, die in juni 2007 werd gemaakt, duurt 1 uur en 3 minuten en is een must voor iedereen die van klassieke muziek houdt.
